The Kunsthalle Krems (art gallery)
The exhibition center of the Kunsthalle Krems has an interdisciplinary, progressive and international focus, featuring positions of established and young, contemporary artists. The presentations take the form of extensive thematic and solo exhibitions. The Kunsthalle Krems has access to the Dominican Church as an additional exhibition venue. This means that the Kunstmeile Krems extends from the Steiner Tor to the Kremser Tor along Steiner Landstrasse. The focus is on spatial projects in a Gothic sacral architecture setting.

Museum of Caricature
The Karikaturmuseum Krems is the only museum of its kind in Austria focusing on comics as an art form. It exhibitis various highlights along with the new permanent Manfred Deix presentation (1949 – 2016). In addition to the largest collection of cartoons by Manfred Deix the museum is devoted to alternate exhibitions from political cartoons and comic drawings to comics and illustrations.

Forum Frohner
Forum Frohner is a platform for exhibitions and events that focus on a lively discourse. Adolf Frohner’s work forms the starting point and is put in context with contemporaneous national and international viewpoints as well as aspects of contemporary art in various presentations. Thus, stimulating issues are thematically addressed and their current standpoint enters into a dialogue with statements from the fields of music, literature and science.

State Gallery of Lower Austria
State Gallery of Lower Austria is a new, dynamic exhibition space for Austrian art and artists. It brings together the holdings of Lower Austrian State Collections with important private collections and engages with the issues of our time through theme and solo exhibitions. Covering all art forms, the programme focuses on the realities of human experience and builds a dialog between the new and the old State Gallery of Lower Austria reflects Lower Austria as a landscape at the nexus between Vienna and neighboring countries that has greatly contributed to the history of European art. To this day, it provides outstanding artists with an inspiring living environment.

Other cultural institutions
Besides these two extensive museums, there is a range of other cultural institutions in the art mile: the Independent Literature House (ULNÖ), the Architectural Network ORTE, the Göttlicher Gallery, the Artothek Gallery and the Stein Minorite church, which runs a programme of avant-garde music.
