Lubman, von Weber

Frightening tales from the German woods: With its folk melodies, ghost scenes and symphonic beauty, Carl Maria von Weber invented German Romantic opera with his «Freischutz», a tale of great love and devilish bullets. Against the backdrop of the castle grounds, the Tonkunstler and Yutaka Sado, joined by a superb ensemble that includes Gal James, Daniela Fally, Michael König, Daniel Schmutzhard and Adrian Eröd, bring Weber’s opera to life in a concert performance.

We kindly thank Otto Schenk who recently agreed to perform as the narrator in the «Freischutz». In his role, Otto Schenk is going to recite texts (originally written for Grafenegg). He is also going to lend Samiel, the «black hunter», his voice. We are also happy to announce that now soprano star Gal James will be singing the role of Agathe. Furthermore, Tuomas Pursio will now take on the role of Kaspar, which he just recently played in Leipzig.
