Introduction/abstract

La Folia Baroque Orchestra • Simone Kermes

The «very pinnacle of performing culture» is how critics describe La Folia Baroque Orchestra. For its debut on the Wolkenturm, the celebrated ensemble interprets gems of the baroque repertoire.

Alongside instrumental jewels, the programme includes virtuosic arias sung by soprano Simone Kermes, labelled a «volcanic operatic star of the baroque» by critics. The artist, recipient of the ECHO Klassik Award in 2011, boasts a broad repertoire and numbers among the elite group of top international singers. There is good reason to be excited about the baroque festival of music at Grafenegg.
