GUSTAV MAHLER
Symphonie Nr. 4 G-Dur
Frankfurt Radio Symphony · Chen Reiss · Rudolf Buchbinder · Alain Altinoglu
GRIEG · MAHLER
A name that more and more music fans are finding easy to get used to: Alain Altinoglu is considered one of the most interesting conductors of the younger generation. The Frenchman of Armenian descent is a welcome guest of the most important orchestras, including the Vienna and Berlin Philharmonic Orchestras. In Grafenegg, he now introduces himself as chief conductor of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra with Gustav Mahler's popular Fourth Symphony, in whose final movement the ravishing soprano Chen Reiss will sing of «heavenly joys.» The concert begins with a roll of timpani and gripping chords on the grand piano: Rudolf Buchbinder plays Edvard Grieg's Piano Concerto in A minor.
