JOHANNES BRAHMS
Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 2 in B-flat major op. 83
ANTONIN DVOŘÁK
Symphony No. 8 in G major op. 88
Czech Philharmonic · Rudolf Buchbinder · Semyon Bychkov
BRAHMS · DVOŘÁK
Brahms at first intended a «very small piano concerto», but his Opus 83 proved to be a piece of symphonic proportions. Rudolf Buchbinder has recorded the piece on numerous occasions, and knows it intimately. The Czech Philharmonic is no less at home with Dvořák's radiant eighth symphony, which closes this moving concert directed by Semyon Bychkov.
