Gergiev is coming! Although the maestro from Russia is a regular Grafenegg guest, his performances at the Wolkenturm are unique events that audiences always await with special eagerness. The first concert in this two-day visit is all about Romantic music. Rudolf Buchbinder is the soloist in Grieg’s much-loved Piano Concerto. What comes next is a piece of majestic cinema for the ears: Berlioz’s «Symphonie fantastique», with its five intimate movements that closely follow a young musician being consumed by his love.
