If there is such a thing as irresistible music, then Joaquín Rodrigo's «Concierto de Aranjuez» is definitely an example. Probably the most popular guitar concerto, it transports the listener to the composer's beloved Royal Gardens south of Madrid. This multifaceted work is performed in Grafenegg by the Spanish guitarist Pablo Sáinz Villegas. The charismatic musician is one of today's most important ambassadors of Spanish music, the delights of which can also be enjoyed to the full in the second half of this concert with the Tonkunstler-Orchestra and conductor Lina Gonzalez-Granados. The young Colombian recently caused a sensation as a stand-in for Riccardo Muti with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and is on the verge of an international career.
